A partnership for a healthier planet

At Hammermill, we recognize the vital role trees play in a healthy planet. That’s why we source our paper from sustainably managed forests — and why we support veritree’s mission to drive measurable, transparent restoration efforts. Through our partnership with veritree, we’ve committed to planting 158,600 trees. These efforts will sequester 46,417 tons of carbon dioxide, the equivalent of removing 10,091 cars from the road for one year

The importance of reforestation

The world’s forests absorb an estimated 15 billion tons of CO2 per year. And did you know that 20% of all greenhouse gas emissions are the result of deforestation? Trees also play a key role in capturing rainwater and reducing the risk of natural disasters. A single mature evergreen tree can intercept more than 15,000 liters of water each year. This is why planting trees makes such a big difference.
